We have a large core of dedicated officers and members that put a lot of effort into helping to make this alliance not the best dragon alliance there is, but beyond that into the best alliance we can be. We feel that our potential is diminished without achieving a sense of communal involvement and team work. As such many of our member expectations are geared towards working together to make us stronger as a whole. The membership expectations consist of Three main areas:
Activity: Venerable Dragons are expected to log in regularly. Lack of activity directly causes communication breakdowns, which diminish the alliance as a whole. Ideally each member would check in at least once a day with Captains. However, it is unrealistic to expect that although it is desired. For the purposes of maintaining membership here, 72 hours of unannounced absence will be grounds for dropping a member from the alliance roster due to inactivity. If a member informs Captain and/or Truant of extended absences in advance it is a non-issue and no risk of being dropped.
Communication: Poor Communication will hamstring an alliance. It impedes both planning and execution of Alliance Missions. It is the one tenet where there is room for improvement at every level. We have many means of communication available to us, enabling us to be more responsive and react more efficiently than other alliances. However, having these advantages does no good if members do not utilize them. This is NOT a requirement to small talk in ally chat or Palringo. It is a requirement for members to be proactive in communicating issues, concerns, and observations with their respective chain of commands. It is also a requirement to respond to officers of the alliance in a timely manner. Timely for alliance purposes will be responding within 24 hours, at which point a warning or follow up will be given and 12 additional hours to respond, unless it is apparent that is a case of ignoring the PM. No one likes to be ignored; it is just rude and degrades the esprit de corps of the entire alliance when it perpetuates itself in organizational communication habits. So individuals that do not acknowledge an officer’s PM, but have logged in since it was sent or posted elsewhere will be subject to being dropped from the alliance roster without the 12 hour warning/reminder period.
Team Spirit and Community involvement: I know this sounds very militant and that it is first and foremost a game that we play because we enjoy it, which brings me to the final area of emphasis and expectation placed on members of Fatman’s Minions. Members are expected to be team players and contribute towards achieving the Alliance aims. In an effort not to make a mockery of the time and effort put into making Venerable Dragons the best Alliance it can be, it is expected that all members do their part and invest a little of their time, effort, and yes even sometimes resources into the alliance. Ideally, members will take the opportunity to meet and get to know many of the wonderful members that we already have and those that are to come. Lack of socializing will not warrant being dropped from the Alliance roster exclusively; however it is taken into consideration when evaluating whether or not to drop a member. On the flipside, a lack of contribution towards alliance goals and aims will warrant a drop from the Alliance roster.
Other factors warranting being dropped:
Attacking without permission.
Improper conflict resolution.
Harassment of other members or otherwise making them feel unwelcome.
Subversion or sedition.
WC chat posts unbefitting a Venerable Dragon.
